EB delays reached 4.5 miles Thursday afternoon amid wind warnings
Sustained winds between 30 and 39 mph prompted wind warnings throughout the morning and early afternoon, initially barring two-way operations. Delays built heavily on eastbound US 50 after 1:00 PM, with eastbound backups peaking at 4.5 miles back to Exit 28 (Bay Dale Drive) by 3:24 PM. Travel times peaked at 28 minutes around 3:00 PM before two-way operations (3 lanes EB, 2 lanes WB) eased congestion, clearing all delays by 5:42 PM.
