Westbound midday delays peaked at 2.5 miles near Castle Marina Road
Midday westbound traffic saw the only significant congestion of the day, with delays peaking at 2.5 miles back to Exit 39A (Castle Marina Road) around noon while operating with two westbound lanes. Backups began around 11:43 a.m. at Exit 38A (Duke Street), tapered past the Exit 37 Route 8 overpass, and fully cleared by 2:17 p.m. Eastbound traffic remained steady with three open lanes and peak travel times of 17 minutes around 5:00 p.m.
