Disabled vehicle causes 2.5-mile westbound Bay Bridge backup Friday morning
A disabled vehicle blocked the westbound right lane late Friday morning, triggering a 2.5-mile backup stretching to Exit 39A (Castle Marina Road). Delays began around 10:58 a.m. near Exit 38A (Duke Street) and pushed westbound crossing times to a peak of 21 minutes before clearing by 12:07 p.m. The bridge maintained three eastbound and two westbound lanes all day, though eastbound traffic faced separate half-mile delays near Exit 27 approaching the Severn River Bridge from 4:02 p.m. to 6:08 p.m.
