Minor eastbound delays late morning and late afternoon
Thursday saw mostly smooth conditions aside from two brief periods of eastbound congestion. Delays began around 11:19 AM reaching 2.5 miles back to Bay Head Road, peaking at 18 minutes before contraflow opened a third eastbound lane to clear traffic by 11:48 AM. Eastbound traffic backed up again at 5:38 PM starting at Exit 23 (MD 450), though the bridge itself remained clear and fully reopened to normal speeds by 5:51 PM.
