Severe wind restrictions exceeding 50 mph suspended two-way operations and restricted high-profile vehicles at 5:38 PM, causing brief evening delays in both directions. Eastbound backups reached 2.5 miles back to Exit 30, while westbound traffic backed up 1.8 miles to Shopping Center Road. Travel times peaked around 5:00 PM at 17 minutes eastbound and 14 minutes westbound before conditions cleared by 6:27 PM.

Traffic is experiencing delays in both directions on the Bay Bridge. Eastbound delays start at Exit 32 (Sandy Point), approximately one mile from the bridge. Westbound delays begin at Exit 37 (Route 8 overpass), about six-tenths of a mile from the bridge.
The left lane on the bridge is closed and two-way traffic operations are suspended, leaving only the two right lanes open. Due to winds exceeding 50 mph, restrictions are in place. Only automobiles, pickup trucks, flatbed trailers, commercial buses, and heavily laden tractor-trailers are permitted to cross. Box trailer combinations with a gross vehicle weight of less than 64,000 pounds are prohibited.
