Eastbound crash triggers 4.5-mile backup and dual-direction delays Monday

An eastbound crash at approximately 11:27 a.m. blocked the left lane, triggering a peak backup of 4.5 miles to Exit 28 (Bay Dale Drive) and pushing eastbound travel times to 31 minutes. Westbound delays also developed between 12:12 p.m. and 2:22 p.m., peaking at 3.2 miles back to Exit 39b (Dominion Road) with travel times reaching 19 minutes. All delays cleared and normal traffic flow resumed in both directions by 4:22 p.m. with three eastbound and two westbound lanes open.
