Midday congestion brings dual-direction delays on Saturday

Travelers faced peak delays in both directions during the early afternoon, with eastbound travel times reaching 30 minutes by 3:00 p.m. due to a 3.5-mile backup stretching to Exit 29A (Bush Frontage Road). Westbound commuters encountered earlier delays beginning around 12:47 p.m., backing up 4.5 miles from Kent Narrows Bridge (Exit 41), and peaking at 15 minutes of travel time. The bridge operated with three lanes eastbound and two lanes westbound during the high-volume periods, before clearing in both directions by 7:02 p.m.
