Lane closures and disabled vehicles caused afternoon bridge delays Monday
Westbound roadwork and disabled vehicles slowed the afternoon commute, creating delays from Exit 37 to Exit 39A between 12:47 PM and 4:42 PM. Westbound traffic peaked at a 20-minute crossing with backups stretching 2.5 miles to Castle Marina Road around 3:42 PM. Eastbound travel saw a brief spike to 24 minutes at 5:00 PM due to a disabled vehicle blocking the left lane near Exit 32 at Sandy Point before clearing by 5:52 PM.
