Heavy Saturday delays peaked at 5.5-mile eastbound backups in the early afternoon.
Two-way traffic operations ran with three lanes eastbound and two lanes westbound through most of the day. Eastbound delays reached 5.5 miles back to Exit 27 (Route 2/Ritchie Highway) from 1:47 PM to 3:32 PM, pushing peak travel times to 38 minutes. Westbound traffic also faced delays peaking at 24 minutes around 1:00 PM, with backups stretching 5.4 miles to Exit 42 at Kent Narrows Bridge. All queues cleared in both directions by 5:47 PM.
