Afternoon crash and roadwork caused multi-mile delays in both directions.
Midday maintenance lane closures sparked initial backups in both directions, which were severely aggravated during the evening commute by a westbound crash around 3:38 PM. The collision closed two westbound lanes, sparking a 6.6-mile backup stretching to Exit 43A (Jackson Creek Road) and peak eastbound travel times of 31 minutes. Eastbound traffic also backed up 3.5 miles to Exit 29A before bridge operations fully recovered by 6:57 PM.
