Afternoon disabled vehicle causes six-mile eastbound bridge backups
After a quiet morning, a disabled vehicle at Exit 30 blocked the eastbound right lane at 3:12 PM, creating six-mile backups extending back to the Severn River Bridge. Travel times peaked during the 3:00 PM hour at 29 minutes eastbound and 24 minutes westbound, with westbound queues reaching 3.2 miles starting at Exit 39B. Conditions cleared by 5:42 PM, though wind warnings for 39 mph speeds were issued at 9:28 PM followed by an eastbound span closure for roadwork at 11:43 PM.
