Eastbound span closures and a 2.5-mile midday backup disrupt Tuesday travel.
The eastbound bridge was closed for maintenance during the early morning and late night, forcing two-way traffic into a single-lane configuration on the westbound span. The most significant delay occurred at 11:57 a.m. when eastbound traffic backed up 2.5 miles from Exit 30 (Whitehall Road) despite three lanes being open shortly thereafter. Maintenance resumed at 8:37 p.m., causing a secondary 1.5-mile eastbound queue at Exit 31 that persisted through midnight.
